welcome to rules a rule is a set of pre programmed parameters that is directed to a specified population for evaluation rules allow you to identify patients in real time whenever they match your parameters of interest for example, you can make a rule that lets you evaluate children ages 2 to 12 for anyone who fills an epilepsy medication and has <80% adherence to the medication the rule will trigger an intervention that informs you to “monitor adherence for epilepsy medications” in an effort to prevent potential hospitalization interventions are autogenerated by the rule whenever that rule is run expand each section to learn more about how to use rules below categories group your rules into relevant categories to keep your rules and resulting interventions organized! each category will tell you how many rules are in that specific category add a new category by using the “+” button rename a category using the pencil icon button if you feel it no longer reflects the rules that you have put inside it within categories, you can move a rule from one category to another if you need to reorganize note categories cannot be deleted by a user if you want to delete a category, please contact caryhealth for assistance {% embed url="" %} watch this video for a brief tutorial about rule categories {% endembed %} rules a rule is a set of pre programmed parameters that is directed to a specified population for evaluation each rule as six components rule name this is the name you give your rule it is decided when you add your rule and it cannot be changed after the rule is created population this is the population that your rule is looking at when it runs (can be a specific tag or the entire population) this is decided when you add your rule and cannot be changed after the rule is created parameter this is the set of requirements (ex <18 years old, not on a statin, has diabetes) that the rule is searching your chosen population for this is decided when you add your rule and cannot be changed after the rule is created intervention this is the recommended action to take (ex member needs a statin prescription) this is decided when you add your rule and cannot be changed after the rule is created frequency this is how often your rule will run (daily, weekly, monthly, or none) selecting none will pause your rule until the frequency status is changed the frequency can be changed at any time based on user preference owner this is who will receive the interventions that the rule generates the assignee can be changed to another individual at any time based on user preference actionable buttons run >|| performs a soft run of the rule without generating actual interventions the soft run will show you how many interventions would have been generated if you had actually run the rule at the present time you can download the list of the potential interventions as a csv file to evaluate offline from onedash > performs a hard run of the rule and will report how many interventions will generate performing a hard run will not allow duplicates, so if there is already an active intervention in your intervention queue, it will not generate a second duplicate intervention if it runs again manage \<pencil icon> view the details of your rule, change the frequency, assignee, and category selections \<trash icon> archive your rule if it is no longer needed it will remove itself from the current list of active rules, but don't worry, you can find it again if you view archived rules from the category selection
