Identify
Rules
4min
A rule is a set of pre-programmed parameters that is directed to a specified population for evaluation. Rules allow you to identify patients in real time whenever they match your parameters of interest.
For example, you can make a rule that lets you evaluate children ages 2 to 12 for anyone who fills an epilepsy medication and has <80% adherence to the medication. The rule will trigger an intervention that informs you to “monitor adherence for epilepsy medications” in an effort to prevent potential hospitalization. Interventions are autogenerated by the rule whenever that rule is run.
